The Society of Toxicology (SOT) is a professional organization for toxicologists, the scientists who study the adverse effects of chemicals on living organisms. SOT was founded in 1969 and has since grown to be the world’s largest toxicology society, with over 8,000 members from academia, government, and industry.
SOT’s mission is to promote the science of toxicology and to advance the health of humanity and the environment. The society does this by providing a forum for toxicologists to share their research, by developing educational programs, and by advocating for sound public policies on toxicology issues.
