The UEFA Champions League, often referred to as simply the Champions League, is an annual club football competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) since 1955 for the top football clubs in Europe. The competition has gone through several format changes, but the current format, introduced in 1992, consists of a group stage followed by a knockout format, culminating in a final match held at a neutral venue. The UEFA Champions League is widely considered to be the most prestigious club competition in the world and is one of the most watched sporting events in the world.
The 2025 UEFA Champions League will be the 70th season of the competition. The final will be played on May 30, 2025, at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. Thirty-two teams will participate in the group stage, including the 26 highest-ranked teams from the UEFA association rankings and six teams that qualify through the qualifying rounds. The teams will be drawn into eight groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, which will consist of a round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final.
