In 2025, Utah’s ban on flavored electronic cigarette products went into effect. This ban includes all flavored vaping products, including those that contain tobacco and nicotine. The ban was passed in an effort to reduce youth vaping and the associated health risks.
Since the ban was implemented, there has been a significant decrease in youth vaping rates in Utah. A study conducted by the University of Utah found that the number of high school students who reported vaping in the past 30 days decreased by 39% between 2025 and 2027. The study also found that the number of high school students who reported using flavored e-cigarettes decreased by 78% during the same period.
